Sport-heute.ch schliesst seine Tore. Nach 11 Jahren möchte ich andere Projekte verwirklichen, auf Reisen gehen und das Leben endlich in vollen Zügen geniessen. Es waren 11 wundervolle Jahre mit Ihnen. Sport-heute.ch bleibt mindestens die nächsten Jahre als Bilderbuch noch bestehen. Doch jeder Abschied kann auch ein neuer Anfang sein. Nun ist es endgültig. Ich wünsche Ihnen eine weiterhin schöne Zeit. Ich danke Ihnen für die Lesertreue und Ihre ehrliche Begeisterung mit grosser Dankbarkeit. Danke, dass ich Sie 11 Jahre verwöhnen durfte.

Sport-heute.ch closes its gates. After 11 years I would like to realize other projects, go on journeys and finally enjoy life to the fullest. There were 11 wonderful years with you. Anna Cavallaro (ITA) and world champion Nicolas Andreani (FRA) defended their FEI World Cup™ Vaulting titles in Bordeaux (FRA) last weekend with stirring performances, while double world and European pas-de-deux champions Jasmin Lindner and Lukas Wacha (AUT) made history by winning the first pas-de-deux Final in this exciting series.

Boyd Exell (AUS) has claimed the FEI World Cup™ Driving champion title for the fifth time in his career in a thrilling finale held in the sold-out Expo centre in Bordeaux (FRA). It was not an easy victory for the Australian who won the neck-to-neck race only 0.69 seconds ahead of rookie Daniel Schneiders (GER). Title defender Koos de Ronde (NED) finished third.

Germany's Marcus Ehning cruised to victory with Cornado NRW tonight in the penultimate qualifying round of the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping 2014 Western European League series at the Parc des Expositions de Bordeaux in France. Ehning's horse, an 11-year-old son of his former super-star ride, Cornet Obolensky, was making his debut at this level of the sport but showed his extraordinary class when galloping home to snatch victory from the European Championship winning partnership of Roger Yves Bost and the brilliant mare Castle Forbes Myrtille Paulois from France.

Mit dem Nennungsergebnis für den ersten Renntag von White Turf 2014 können die Organisatoren zufrieden sein. In allen sieben ausgeschriebenen Rennen kamen 78 Meldungen zusammen. 49 für die Galopprennen, 9 für das Skikjöring und 20 für die Trabrennen. White Turf-CEO Silvio Martin Staub: „Wir freuen uns über diese große Internationalität unseres Anlasses. Bemerkenswert sind schon am ersten Renntag allein zehn Nennungen aus Großbritannien. A year ago, few could have guessed that the beginning of the 2014 Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping series would be met with such anticipation and excitement. As the inaugural series got underway in February 2013 there was considerable concern about dramatic changes to the long-established and much-loved FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping format, including expansion that would draw in many new countries from around the globe. Das Eidgenössische Frauenschwingfest in Unteriberg

Eine enttrohnte Königin und eine neue Schwingerkönigin die auch das Schlussfest in Unteriberg gewann. Sonja Kälin, die letztjährige Schwingerkönigin gewann im 5. Gang noch klar gegen die spätere Siegerin Margrit Vetter-Fankhauser. Im Schlussgang unterlag sie der neuen Königin, die sie mit einem Klassiker auf den Rücken brachte. Beide Schwingerinnen taten ihre Arbeit auf höchstem Niveau. Schnelligkeit und Technik waren ganz einfach bei beiden überragend. Fotos Marcel Krebs für Gruezi-Schwiiz.ch (c)
