BOECHERER and ZELINKA winner of the IRONMAN 70.3 Pays d'Aix
The day goes up slowly on the Lac of Peyrolles when the athletes prepared their bike and others stuff for the 1km900 of swimming. The start was given a 7.40 am by Yves Cordier, IRONMAN director and Laurent Courbon, CARMA Sport director. Even before the half turn, SUDRIE and BOECHERER imposed a strong rhythm but the hunter group, outdistance of 50 meters, were keeping in view the escapees. This last go out of the water in 23 minutes 15. In the women, Camilla PEDERSEN has dominated the swim part in 25 minutes 24.
The bike was led by BOECHERER but the show came from Boris STEIN, who with a delay of 3 minutes in swimming makes an amazing ascent. The timing of 2h12 on this hilly course shows us the amazing level of the IRONMAN 70.3 Pays d'Aix. Few minutes behind, Romain GUILLAUME, Joe GAMBLES, Domenico PASSUELLO tries to limit the gap before attack the half marathon. Camilla PEDERSEN has, as for her, lead the bike course from the beginning to the end ahead Gabriella ZELINKA and Alexandra TONDEUR. MULLAN, 4th stays close from the head of the bike course.
The half marathon was anime in the men by VAN BERKEL which takes the third grade, whereas the arrival under the ark with an amazing public seen the return of STEIN on BOECHERER, the two athletes have entwined each other with the feeling of make something big. VAN BERKEL completed the podium. In the women, PEDERSEN finish at the third grade behind an Alexandra TONDEUR very regular. The victory goes to Gabriella ZELINKA.
