Sport-heute.ch schliesst seine Tore. Nach 11 Jahren möchte ich andere Projekte verwirklichen, auf Reisen gehen und das Leben endlich in vollen Zügen geniessen. Es waren 11 wundervolle Jahre mit Ihnen. Sport-heute.ch bleibt mindestens die nächsten Jahre als Bilderbuch noch bestehen. Doch jeder Abschied kann auch ein neuer Anfang sein. Nun ist es endgültig. Ich wünsche Ihnen eine weiterhin schöne Zeit. Ich danke Ihnen für die Lesertreue und Ihre ehrliche Begeisterung mit grosser Dankbarkeit. Danke, dass ich Sie 11 Jahre verwöhnen durfte.

Sport-heute.ch closes its gates. After 11 years I would like to realize other projects, go on journeys and finally enjoy life to the fullest. There were 11 wonderful years with you. Sport-heute.ch will continue to exist as a picture book for at least the next few years. But every farewell can also be a new beginning. Now it is final. I wish you a good time. I would like to thank the readership and your honest enthusiasm with great gratitude. Thank you for spoiling you for 11 years.

Not only will it, again, attract the biggest names in cycling, it will also have to offer outstanding landscapes and the best possible stages for what promises to be an exciting show of endurance, courage and speed. Part of the annual Muscat Festival, the Tour of Oman 2014, which starts tomorrow, really is the place to be on the World cycling calendar.

 

TOUR OF QATAR 2014 : TERPSTRA AND DEMARE TRIUMPH ON THE DOHA CORNICHE

Stage 6 Demare

Like two years when he captured his first ever professional victory on the Doha Corniche, Arnaud Démare flew to a fantastic sprint victory on the final stage of the 2014 Tour of Qatar. The Frenchman managed to beat Daniele Bennati and Bernhard Eisel to the line. In the bunched pack, Niki Terpstra wins his first ever Tour of Qatar ahead of Tom Boonen and Jurgen Roelandts.

Stage 5 Greipel

Second yesterday, André Greipel got things right today on the 5th stage of the Tour of Qatar. The German sprinter and national champion conquered his first ever success in Qatar, winning the bunched sprint in Madinat Al Shamal ahead of Aidis Kruopis and Theo Bos. In the leading pack, Niki Terpstra remains the overall leader of the event with one day to go.
